In Year Admissions during an enforced school closure

As you aware the Government made a directive that from 23 March 2020 all UK schools will be closed except for ‘vulnerable’ children and children of ‘critical/key workers’ – .

Therefore, The Great North Wood Education Trust will not process in-year school applications for children who are on roll of a school, wishing to move to another one.  We will only process applications for children who are not on roll (register) of any school and fall in to the category of being a ‘vulnerable’ child.  Confirmation of the child’s status, eg. A letter from a Social Worker will be needed with the application.

School applications for children of ‘critical/key workers’ who are not on roll of a school due to a recent change of address will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Confirmation of a parent’s role will be required with any application. This will be in place for the foreseeable future – until the crisis is over.

We are sorry if this causes any inconvenience for families, but usual in-year processes are not able to implemented at this time

The Great North Wood Education Trust is the admissions authority for Rosendale Primary School and The Elmgreen School.  For admission to reception, Year 7 or Sixth Form, please apply via Lambeth’s Common Application Form, which can be accessed via the Lambeth website.  Applications for in-year admissions should be made directly to the school.  Applications for Rosendale Nursery class should be made directly to Rosendale School.  The admissions criteria in the event of oversubscription are:

  • Looked After Children
  • Siblings
  • Children with Exceptional Medical or Social Needs
  • Children of staff at the school
  • Distance
